Madera Hills
Madera Hills is the name neighbors and real estate agents use for Simi Valley's west end along Madera Road, at the foot of Mount McCoy. Its first streets were mapped from 1963 to 1970 by Larkin Manor No. 2, landowner Alan Robertson and Simi Properties, and later builders, from Larwin to D.R. Horton, filled in the rest through 2017. County records count about 1,700 homes.

Living in Madera Hills
Mount McCoy anchors the west side. The 1,325-foot peak carries a 12-foot white cross and became Ventura County Landmark No. 106 in 1986. The parks district's Mt. McCoy Trail starts at Los Amigos Avenue and Washburn Street and climbs 500 to 600 feet over 1.2 miles of switchbacks to the cross. A shorter route starts off Presidential Drive, the road up to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.
West of Madera Road, the older streets of Tract 1544, Los Amigos Estates and Tract 2090 filled in between 1964 and 1976, with a 1989 apartment complex and a small 2002 tract alongside. East of Madera, gated Park Lane and the newer townhomes of The Westerly and Stratus fill the block below Los Angeles Avenue. Greystone, Southcrest, Casablanca, Tract 3535 and Friendly Village line Tierra Rejada Road. Madera Elementary and Sinaloa Middle School are nearby on Royal Avenue.
