Greek Tract
The Greek Tract is a neighborhood of about 313 single-family homes on Simi Valley's west side, between West Los Angeles Avenue and the Arroyo Simi just east of Madera Road. Its streets take their names from the places, people and myths of ancient Greece. Marlboro Realty Fund subdivided the land as Tract 1414, recorded in two units in 1963, and county records date nearly every house to that year.

Living in Greek Tract
Unit 1, recorded in February 1963, has 185 home lots on Lysander, Athens, Hermes, Ulysses and Socrates and on parts of Aristotle and Electra. It also includes the parcels that now hold Arroyo Elementary School and Arroyo Park. Unit 2 followed in April with 128 lots on the rest of Aristotle and Electra and on four short courts: Hercules, Plato, Sparta and Apollo. Paramount Engineering Co. of Los Angeles drew both maps. When they were filed, the land was unincorporated county territory, and Simi Valley did not become a city until 1969.
Four floor plans of about 1,200 to 1,700 square feet make up most of the houses, and about half have a second floor. Arroyo Elementary is in the middle of the tract on Ulysses Street, with Arroyo Park next to it on Socrates Avenue. The Simi Valley Police Department has held Greek Tract neighborhood-watch meetings, and neighbors use the name on Nextdoor.
