About

About Conejo Life

An independent, resident-focused guide to the Conejo Valley, Simi Valley and Moorpark — built neighborhood by neighborhood, with every fact sourced.

What this site is

Conejo Life covers nine areas — Agoura Hills, Oak Park, Westlake Village, Lake Sherwood and Hidden Valley, Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park, Santa Rosa Valley, Moorpark and Simi Valley — and gives every neighborhood, and the named tracts inside each neighborhood, a page of its own. It's meant for the questions residents actually ask: who built this tract and when, which HOA runs it, which schools are nearby, who collects the trash, who represents us, and what to do when the next fire comes over the ridge.

How facts are checked

Facts come from public records first: city and county sites, county GIS and tract maps, school districts, HOAs and their management companies, utilities, CAL FIRE and the California Department of Finance. Builder histories, newspaper archives (the Acorn papers and the Ventura County Star among them) and MLS subdivision names fill in the rest. Every guide lists its sources at the bottom of the page.

Each neighborhood and tract was researched and then fact-checked separately, by a second pass that tried to disprove it. Tract pages carry a documentation level — well, mostly or partly documented — so you can see how firm the record is. Real-estate portals may be used to confirm a subdivision name, but we don't link to them.

Corrections

Neighborhood names and tract boundaries are local knowledge, and records miss things. If something is wrong or missing, send a correction. We check it, fix it, and update the page's date.

Independence and real estate

Conejo Life isn't affiliated with any city, county, HOA or school district. Real estate information on the site is provided by Properkey (CA DRE #01979718 · NMLS #1438783), which is not the listing broker unless stated. Neighborhood content isn't sponsored and isn't for sale.
