About

Living in Shadow Run (Wendy)

It shares its name with the Shadow Run on Ilex Drive, a separate tract (Tract 2503) that has its own homeowners association. This one has no association, and its streets were dedicated to the city when the maps were approved. Short places and courts carry Western and outdoor names such as Rawhide, Saddlehorn, Ramrod and Fawnglen. County records put living areas at roughly 1,800 to 3,100 square feet, on lots of about a fifth of an acre.

The 1978 map set aside a 3.5-acre lot as a proposed park site, and that land is now part of Banyan Park. Banyan Elementary is about a quarter mile away and Wendy Park is a few blocks off. The Deer Ridge and Potrero Ridge open spaces are within about half a mile.

The lay of the land

Curving streets and short cul-de-sacs with Western and outdoor names such as Rawhide, Saddlehorn, Ramrod, Hawkeye, Fawnglen and Deer Spring. Lots along Lynn Road and Wendy Drive face inward: the tract maps barred driveway access onto those two roads and gave the city landscape maintenance easements along them. Banyan Park borders the tract on the southwest. Banyan Elementary is about a quarter mile away, and the Deer Ridge and Potrero Ridge open spaces are within about half a mile.

This is not the Shadow Run on Ilex Drive (Tract 2503), a different tract with its own homeowners association.
