Living in Potrero Valley
Hickory Park, a 4.6-acre neighborhood park on Camphor Avenue, sits near the middle. Lyon's first map offered that lot to the Conejo Recreation and Park District, which accepted it in May 1969. The 1978 section filled a 10-acre lot that the 1970 map had left undivided, so its lots run a little larger. The city's homeowner-association records show the Potrero Valley HOA covering all four tracts.
Open land wraps around three sides. Potrero Ridge open space rises across Lynn Road, Dos Vientos open space lies to the west, and National Park Service land sits across Potrero Road. Rancho Sierra Vista/Satwiwa's main entrance is a short way west at Via Goleta. Fire Station 32 stands across Lynn Road from the northeast corner. Every lot is inside a Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone on the CAL FIRE map the city uses, dated March 24, 2025.
