Living in Running Springs Village
Several streets borrow California place names (Amador, Tioga, San Carlos, San Simeon and Mendocino), alongside Glenbrock Lane and Green Valley Drive. Most houses follow a handful of repeating plans of roughly 1,250 to 1,700 square feet, with a few reaching about 2,000, on lots that typically measure around 6,000 square feet. A local real-estate guide notes that some lots have wider driveways or side yards with room for a boat or trailer.
The name matches the Running Springs Ranch, one of the Newbury Park ranches the Janss Corporation bought in 1962. A homeowners association once covered the tract, but city records now list it as disbanded. On the first map the developer dedicated a lot of nearly six acres to the city; it is now city-owned Arroyo Conejo open space, and the Rancho Conejo Playfield trailhead is a short walk away.
The lay of the land
Quiet residential lanes of late-1970s tract houses built from a few repeating floor plans. City-owned Arroyo Conejo open space borders the tract, and the Rancho Conejo Playfield trailhead is a short walk away. A local real-estate guide notes that some lots have wider driveways or side yards.
