Living in Conejo Heights
The Conejo Heights I and II names come from local home-sale records, and they aren't used consistently. Sales in the 1960s section are filed as I. Some Mesa Avenue sales in the 1973 tract have been filed as I as well, and one realtor guide swaps the two names. There is no homeowners association. The original maps dedicated the streets for public use, and the lots are zoned R-1.
The northern section was mapped as unincorporated county land and is now inside Thousand Oaks. Stagecoach Inn Park and its museum are a few blocks east on Ventu Park Road, and Newbury Gateway Park is a few blocks west on Michael Drive. The Ventu Park Open Space borders the southern section.
The lay of the land
Two sections of 1960s and 1970s single-family houses on public streets and R-1 lots, on either side of Kelley Road. Stagecoach Inn Park and the Ventu Park Open Space are close, and so are Ventu Park Road and US 101.
Home-sale records use 'Conejo Heights I' and 'Conejo Heights II' inconsistently, and one local realtor guide swaps them. On this page, I is the 1964–66 section east of Kelley Road (Tracts 1652 and 1876). II is the 1973 tract on Mesa and Asta avenues (Tract 2249).
