Living in Shadow Mountain
The tract map shows the whole 15-acre site as a single lot, and the county classes the homes as condominiums. They are two-story attached townhomes, mostly in four plans of roughly 1,330 to 1,840 square feet, set on short lanes and courts with shared grounds between them. They went up in two rounds. San Vincente Circle, Court and Lane, Mariposa Drive and part of Padua Circle came first. Montenegro Circle, Oak Glen Drive, Damiana Drive and the rest of Padua Circle followed. When the map was filed, members of the Borchard family still held the mineral rights more than 500 feet below the land.
The homeowners association is registered with the city as Shadow Mountain Tennis Club, and Lordon Management is listed as its manager. Newbury Park High School is about a third of a mile up Reino Road, the park is just across the street, and a small shopping center sits on the corner itself.
