About

Living in Westlake Trails

The neighborhood's association says the Trails began as custom homes with horse trails running along wide streets. Split-rail fences, oaks and some of those trails remain, and a few properties still keep horses. Later pieces filled in around the original map: Saddlecrest Lane in 1974 and 1978, and the J.M. Peters Company's 33-home Oak Ranch Court section, built between 1989 and 1995.

The City's 1.34-acre Foxfield Park, with a half-court, playground and picnic pavilion, sits on Foxfield Drive beside a county fire station. Streets are public and ungated. PMP Property Management runs the Westlake Trails Association, recent listings show dues of about $880 to $906 a year, and the association calls the neighborhood a Firewise USA community. Southridge Trails listings report no association.
