About

Living in First Neighborhood

Agoura Road, Lakeview Canyon Road and Lindero Canyon Road frame the neighborhood. Inside, about three dozen short courts with English-sounding names, among them Kingspark, Watergate, Hartfield and Sevenoaks, branch off Village School and Village Center roads, and greenbelt paths run between them. White Oak Elementary and the adjoining Berniece Bennett Park sit near the middle. Assessor records show mostly four-bedroom houses of about 1,700 to 2,700 square feet.

The First Neighborhood Property Owners Association enforces the recorded CC&Rs through an architectural committee. It also keeps up the greenbelts, a pool that is heated from mid-April through October, and a community center with a ballroom residents can rent. The city looks after the street medians through a landscaping-district zone set aside for the neighborhood.
