About

Living in Village Homes

The Village Homes Property Owners Association, managed by The Emmons Company, runs a members' clubhouse and pool near Evenstar Avenue. Reported dues run about $76 to $87 a month. Each of the first two tract maps offered a lot to the Conejo Recreation and Park District for park use. Today the neighborhood has two district parks: Evenstar Park on Evenstar Avenue and Triunfo Community Park on Aranmoor Avenue.

County assessor records list living areas of about 1,260 to 3,780 square feet, most between 1,700 and 2,850. Lots are mostly 6,000 to 10,000 square feet, and the 1975 section on Rim Crest and Silver Spring drives has the larger homes. The maps dedicated the streets to the city as public roads. Westlake Elementary, Colina Middle and Westlake High, all Conejo Valley Unified schools, are nearby.

The lay of the land

The home count comes from Ventura County parcel records for the four recorded tract maps. It leaves out about a dozen homes on later lot splits inside the association's mapped boundary. The City of Thousand Oaks lists the association under Tracts 1967 and 2156, but its mapped boundary also covers Tract 2173.
