Living in Sycamore Canyon Estates
County assessor records show houses of about 3,400 to 4,900 square feet with three to five bedrooms, on lots of roughly a quarter acre to an acre. The streets are private. When the city approved the map, it accepted the sewer, drainage and trail easements but declined the roads. Residents enter through a gate off Westlake Boulevard, and the east end connects to Kirsten Lee Drive only by a gated emergency lane. The recorded map labels the main street as a private section of Kirsten Lee Drive. Today it is Sycamore Canyon Drive, with Caitlyn Circle looping off it.
Sycamore Canyon Estates borders Three Springs, but it is a separate subdivision with its own association, and it lies outside the city's Three Springs landscape maintenance zone. A 2026 listing showed dues of about $660 a month. The Westlake Vista Open Space covers the hills to the southeast. The homes on neighboring Country Ranch Road have Westlake Village addresses but are in unincorporated Los Angeles County.
