Southshore Hills

Southshore Hills is a hillside neighborhood of about 320 single-family homes southwest of Westlake Lake, on the Thousand Oaks side of Westlake Village. The companies behind the Westlake Village plan recorded it as three tracts: the original in 1968, with homes built in 1970; Southshore Hills West in 1971, built mostly from 1974 to 1976; and a Glastonbury Road section in 1980–81, built through 1986.

About

Living in Southshore Hills

The original tract has about 129 homes on Highgate and Elmsbury roads, parts of Hillsbury Road, Bowcliff Terrace, the Thousand Oaks ends of Woodburn Avenue and Fallview Road, and four courts. Most of its houses are about 2,300 to 2,850 square feet. Southshore Hills West adds about 137 homes on Hillsbury, Channelford and Glastonbury roads, with bigger lots and a median house size near 2,100 square feet. The 1980s section has about 56 homes on Glastonbury Road, Goldenrod Court and Tanbark Court.

The first two tracts each have a property owners association, and the city's HOA map lists none for the 1980s section. All the streets are public. Southshore Hills Park is on Tanbark Court, beside the 13-acre Southshore Hills Open Space, which the Conejo Open Space Conservation Agency manages as wildlife habitat. Three Springs is just across the county line. Westlake Elementary, Colina Middle and Westlake High are nearby.
