Living in Forest Cove
The four communities are more different than the shared park suggests. Oak View Ranch on the west side and Chateau Creek to the north and east are detached homes, mostly 2,100 to 3,400 sq ft, on public streets. Oak View Gardens and Chateau Park, along Canwood Street, are denser. They have compact cluster homes and attached townhomes on private lanes kept up by their associations. Above Chateau Park sits an undeveloped hillside of about 31 acres. The city's General Plan names Chateau Park as one of two tracts whose association holds significant open space.
Forest Cove Park, at 5451 Forest Cove Lane, covers about 9.6 acres set aside from two of the tracts. It has a ballfield, two playgrounds, a picnic shelter and basketball hoops. Morrison Park, with an inclusive playground and a full basketball court, is just across Thousand Oaks Boulevard in Morrison Ranch. On Nextdoor the same blocks show up as Oak View Gardens, Strawberry Hill, Quail Run and part of Reyes Adobe East.

Forest Cove is this guide's umbrella name, taken from Forest Cove Park and Forest Cove Lane. It is not an HOA or an official city neighborhood, and the city's HOA map uses the four association names.
