The Canwood Street units and part of Strawberry Hill Drive came first, in 1981–83. Windsong Lane followed in 1983–84 and 1986, and the rest of Strawberry Hill Drive in 1988. County building outlines show about 46 buildings for the 200 homes, so most neighbors share walls. Units run about 1,050 to 2,400 sq ft, and most have three bedrooms. The tract's largest lot is an undeveloped hillside of about 31 acres. The city's General Plan names Chateau Park as one of two tracts whose association holds significant open space. A common lot at the east end has a swimming pool and a tennis court. Windsong Lane and the interior drives are private. Nextdoor calls the area Strawberry Hill, and listings use the name Chateau Park Townhomes.
