About

Living in Lynn Ranch

The POA's history says the land was the Hunt family's olive-growing Salto Ranch from 1876. It then became the Lynn family's sheep and cattle ranch until the late 1950s, when much of it was sold to the Janss Corporation. When Thousand Oaks incorporated in 1964, Lynn Ranch stayed out. Ventura County still handles planning and land use here, even though addresses read Thousand Oaks 91360.

Lots run from about a third of an acre in Lynn 5 and 6 to an acre or more in Lynn 1, and most homes are single-story ranch houses. Each section's CC&Rs decide whether horses are allowed. The property owners association, formed in 1957, reviews building plans and keeps up about six miles of bridle trails. Madroña Academy of the Arts and Sciences is on Camino Manzanas inside the neighborhood.
