About

Living in Old Meadows

County records date almost every house to 1959. A couple were finished in 1960 and three lots were built on in the late 1990s. Lots are roomy for the era, mostly a third to a half acre, and homes run from about 1,500 to 3,000 square feet. A local agent points out the colonial-style front columns on many of them. There is no homeowners association.

Old Meadows Park on Marview Drive is the neighborhood's own park. Behind it, the 48-acre Old Meadows Open Space rises to a grassy knoll with oaks and views across the valley, with trail access from Church Road at El Monte Drive and from Marview near Shadow Oaks Place. Conejo Creek North and South parks are just west on Janss Road, and Los Cerritos Middle School is just to the north. Across the open space, about 100 newer homes from 1988–1996 (Tract 2582) line the streets above Janss Road.

Old Meadows has no official boundary. This guide treats the two 1959 tracts (1093 and 1123) as Old Meadows. It also covers the adjoining 1980s–90s Tract 2582, which shares the park and open space; local agents count only part of it as Old Meadows.
