About

Living in Central Thousand Oaks

Early-1960s single-family streets make up most of the area, many mapped before the city formed in 1964. Townhome and condominium complexes followed into the early 1980s, mostly west of Moorpark Road near Hillcrest Drive and Lynn Road, and a few newer enclaves came after 2000. Shadow Oaks, the Conejo Village Eichler homes, Greenwich Village and Waverly Heights border it and have their own pages.

Few parts of the city are this central. The Oaks, Janss Marketplace and Los Robles hospital are close by, and Conejo Community Park, the Conejo Valley Botanic Garden, Glenwood Park, Paige Lane Neighborhood Park and the Labisco Hill and Fireworks Hill open spaces sit between the tracts. Nearby public schools include Glenwood and Aspen elementary schools, Acacia Magnet School, Redwood Middle School and Thousand Oaks High School.
