About

Living in Lang Ranch

The name comes from the old Lang Ranch: Oakbrook Regional Park preserves the site where the ranch caretaker lived in the early 1900s, and many recorded maps here still reserve mineral rights to Lang family heirs. The Chumash settlement of Šihaw once stood on this ground. Tamara came first, in 1976, then the tracts along Rikkard Drive and the Brock Collection through 1988, and the eastern tracts from 1994 to 2003. Several early-1980s maps note that building permits had to wait for allotments under the city's 1980 growth-control ordinance.

There's no master association. Verdigris, Eagle Ridge, Cobblestone and Woodridge are gated, with private streets and their own HOAs; the Brock Collection and Symphony have ungated associations; the other tracts have none. Trailheads at the east ends of Lang Ranch Parkway and Westlake Boulevard lead into the 915-acre Lang Ranch Open Space. Oakbrook, west of Erbes Road, has its own page, and Sunset Ridge, next to Woodridge, appears on the Sunset Hills page.

Listing services often stretch the Lang Ranch label west over the older Oakbrook tracts beyond Erbes Road; this guide covers Oakbrook on its own page. Woodridge lies just outside the city's Lang Ranch Specific Plan boundary but is included here.
