Living in Country Village
The whole community is one recorded map, Tract 3157-1, laid out with private streets and four common lots. Its owner of record, Metropolitan Development Corporation, was Oak Park's master developer, and the engineering firm Daniel, Mann, Johnson & Mendenhall prepared the map. Each home sits on its own lot of about 1,800 to 2,750 square feet. The assessor counts them as attached single-family homes rather than condominiums. County records show four home sizes from 1,146 to 1,827 square feet. Agent guides describe two- and three-bedroom plans and a pool and clubhouse at the center, with dues of about $525 to $545 a month.
Fire Station 36, Medea Creek Middle School on Doubletree Road, and the Oak Park Library and Oak Park High School on Kanan Road are all a short walk away. Agent guides count about 50 homes; the county parcel roll lists 87.
The lay of the land
A compact townhome enclave on private streets with a pool and clubhouse at its center. The fire station, library, middle school and high school are a short walk away.
Agent guides describe Country Village as about 50 homes, but county parcel and tract-map records show 87 home lots. The Oak Park Fire Safe Council lists an association called Country Village 2 HOA. The second unit of the same tract, Tract 3157-2, was recorded on the same day and holds 50 detached houses on Heatherview Drive and nearby courts. The council does not say whether the "2" refers to that unit or to this community.
