About

Living in Villa del Arroyo

In 2000 the city issued mobile home revenue bonds to help finance the purchase, rehabilitation and preservation of the park. Under that arrangement, 48 of the 240 homes (one in five) are deed-restricted for very-low-income households, and the covenant runs to 2040. In its current Housing Element, the city commits to monitoring that agreement and to looking for ways to keep the park in good repair over the long term.

The whole park is a single county assessor's parcel of about 63 acres, not a subdivision, so it has no recorded tract map. The freeway and the terrain separate it from Moorpark College and the College neighborhood to the north. The Housing Element groups it with the Virginia Colony area. One public map submitted during the city's 2019 council districting process paired it with Campus Park and Varsity Park Estates as a community of interest.
