Pleasant Valley School District runs 11 public schools in and around Camarillo, including the Santa Rosa Valley: six TK–5 elementary schools, three TK–8 schools and two 6–8 middle schools, plus a part-day preschool at two campuses. About 5,900 students attended district-run schools on the state's fall 2025 census day, and the state also lists two charter schools under the district (about 1,800 more students). Most Santa Rosa Valley addresses are assigned to Santa Rosa Technology Magnet School for all grades TK–8; after 8th grade, students move on to the Oxnard Union High School District.

Which PVSD schools serve an address?

Type a street address. The answer comes from PVSD's Tract Code Book (2025-26 columns) and the other districts' data, and links PVSD's own locator to confirm.

PVSD sets schools by street and house-number range, so its area is shaded whole; type an address to check it. Dashed lines are district boundaries. Point at an area for its name, or tap anywhere for the schools there.

How assignment works

How schools are assigned

Your street address sets your neighborhood school. The district's Find Your Neighborhood School page points families to the PVSD Tract Code Book, a PDF list of every street with low and high address ranges. Find your street, find the range that contains your house number, and read the school in the 2025-26 Elementary and 2025-26 Middle columns (the number after the school's abbreviation can be ignored). The district also posts elementary and middle school boundary maps.

The code book lists Santa Rosa Technology Magnet School (SRTMS) as both the elementary and the middle school for 108 street segments. They include Santa Rosa Road from 7501 (odd side) and 9500 (even side) up through 13599, and streets such as Barranca Road, Gerry Road, Duval Road, Yucca Drive, Presilla Road, Rosita Road, Rocky High Road, Rose Lane and part of East Las Posas Road (10790–11799). Santa Rosa Road addresses below that (from 4600, plus even numbers up to 9498) are assigned to Tierra Linda or La Mariposa for elementary and Las Colinas for middle school, so check your exact house number.

If your street is not listed, the district says it may be a new street without a grid code; every new housing development has a designated school, and families can call (805) 389-2100 ext. 1109 for help. When you finish online pre-enrollment, you call the neighborhood school to finish enrollment, so the school office can also confirm your assignment.

Choosing a school

Choosing a different school

Families who live inside PVSD can ask for a school other than their neighborhood school through Intra-District Choice (the district's open enrollment). For 2026-27 the on-time window ran January 26 to February 13, 2026, with an online application; staff help and Chromebooks were available at every school office and the district office. The district posted estimated open seats by school and grade (based on December intent-to-return forms), and some grades were listed as 'interest lists' that open only if enough families apply to fill a whole class.

Applications are reviewed by priority and then by random lottery, and seats are offered as space opens; applying does not guarantee a seat. The Los Primeros lottery is processed first, then Dos Caminos Dual Language Immersion requests, then all other choice requests. The 2026-27 window closed on August 1, 2026; after that date, new requests are considered only for exigent circumstances or family reunification.

The district says the 2027-28 Intra-District Choice window will be made available in January 2027; exact dates were not posted when we checked. Transportation: the district's free space-available bus is only for students who live in and attend their neighborhood school and live more than 3 air miles away. Choice students may apply for parent-pay buses where offered (2026-27 fees: $330 one-way, $550 round trip for the Santa Rosa choice bus), and several routes are waitlist only.

Programs and how students get in

  • Santa Rosa Technology Magnet School (SRTMS): Attendance-area school for Santa Rosa Valley addresses (TK–8). Other PVSD families apply through Intra-District Choice (priority, then lottery); families outside PVSD need an inter-district permit. TK–8 campus at 13282 Santa Rosa Road with a computer science immersion program for all grades, a STEM lab/makerspace and technology-focused middle school electives; for 2026-27 the district estimated choice seats at every grade, from 1–2 seats in 7th grade to up to 25 in 6th.
  • Los Primeros School of Sciences and Arts: Lottery through Intra-District Choice; it has no attendance area in the 2025-26 Tract Code Book. TK–8 focus school with science and arts enrichment; the district processes the Los Primeros lottery first each year because demand is high.
  • Dos Caminos Dual Language Immersion (DLI): Neighborhood school for its attendance area; families from other areas apply through Intra-District Choice. Language assessments may be required for TK–3rd grade seats, and 2nd–3rd grade seats require prior DLI experience or tested proficiency. Two-way, 50/50 English–Spanish model that began in 2023-24 with preschool, TK and kindergarten and adds a grade each year toward schoolwide implementation in 2028-29; grades 4 and 5 were not DLI classes in 2026-27.
  • Camarillo Heights STEM Academy: Attendance-area school; other PVSD families may apply through Intra-District Choice. TK–5 school that the school describes as emphasizing learning by doing.
  • Pleasant Valley School of Engineering and Arts (PVSEA): Attendance-area school; other PVSD families may apply through Intra-District Choice. TK–8 school on Temple Avenue whose Early Education Center (550 Temple Ave.) houses PEEP, pre-K, TK and kindergarten classes.
  • PVSD Preschool: Application through district pre-enrollment plus registration forms; tuition-based with California State Preschool Program assistance for families who qualify. Part-day, three-hour classes at the PVSEA Early Education Campus (morning and afternoon) and Las Posas Elementary (morning), with a 1:8 staff ratio and up to 24 children per class.
  • Peak Prep Pleasant Valley: Charter school; families enroll directly with the school, not by address. Tuition-free online public school for TK–12 students living in Kern, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara and Ventura counties.
  • University Preparation Charter School at CSU Channel Islands: Charter school; families enroll directly with the school, not by address. Charter school at 1099 Bedford Drive in Camarillo that the state lists under Pleasant Valley School District.
Transfers & enrolling

Transfers and enrollment

Coming from (or leaving for) another district

PVSD accepts students who live outside the district when space is available. Families first get an Inter-District Transfer Agreement from their home district; once the home district signs it, they turn it in to the PVSD Enrollment Office at 600 Temple Ave. (or a school office).

Students should stay enrolled in their home district until PVSD confirms a space. For 2026-27, applications were accepted January 26 to February 13, 2026; 2027-28 dates were not posted when we checked. Approval depends on space and may be at a different school than the one requested; permits can be revoked for issues such as excessive absences or tardies, behavior, academic effort or false information, and parents provide transportation.

PVSD families who want to attend another district fill out the Inter-District Transfer Form and submit it to the PVSD enrollment office, which then sets up a meeting with the Assistant Superintendent of Certificated Human Resources.

Enrolling

Start with the district's online pre-enrollment form, then call your neighborhood school to set an appointment at the school office to finish enrollment. Questions go to the Attendance and Enrollment office at (805) 389-2100 ext. 1109. For district preschool in 2026-27, children turning 3 or 4 by April 1, 2027 are eligible; families complete pre-enrollment plus registration and application forms, and tuition is $590 a month, with help through the California State Preschool Program for families who qualify (preschool questions: (805) 389-2100 ext. 1163).

The enrollment pages we read do not list required documents or the transitional kindergarten (TK) age cutoff, so ask the school office.
