Oxnard Union High School District runs the public high schools for a roughly 231-square-mile area that includes Oxnard, Camarillo, Somis and the Santa Rosa Valley. It has seven comprehensive high schools with attendance zones, Rancho Campana High (admission by lottery), Oxnard Middle College High (by application), Condor High (independent study, by counselor referral), Frontier High (continuation), the Anacapa Adult Transition Program and Oxnard Adult School. About 15,700 students attended district-run schools on the state's fall 2025 census day, and the state also lists two charter schools in Camarillo under the district.
The district's 2026-27 boundary map places the Santa Rosa Valley in the Adolfo Camarillo High School zone.

How schools are assigned
Your home address sets your 'school of residence.' Seven comprehensive high schools have attendance zones: Adolfo Camarillo, Channel Islands, Del Sol, Hueneme, Oxnard, Pacifica and Rio Mesa. The district's online School Locator map (linked from every district page) lets you search an address; its '2026-27 Boundaries' layer shows the zone for the 2026-27 school year.
In the locator's 2026-27 layer, the Santa Rosa Valley falls in the Adolfo Camarillo High School zone. We checked the Santa Rosa Technology Magnet School site and a grid of points across the valley, and every one returned Adolfo Camarillo HS; the same was true for the Somis area and for every Pleasant Valley School District campus site in Camarillo. Adolfo Camarillo High is at 4660 Mission Oaks Blvd. in Camarillo.
The district tells families to plan to enroll in and attend their school of residence unless Student Support Services approves a transfer. District buses serve only students attending their home school.

Choosing a different school
Families who live in the district and want a school other than their home school submit an online Intra-District Transfer application to Student Support Services. For 2026-27, on-time applications were accepted November 3, 2025 through February 27, 2026, with decisions emailed at the end of April 2026; late applications get a decision after a capacity study. Applications need a current email address and documents supporting the reason for the transfer (and a copy of any current IEP or 504 plan), and incomplete applications are not processed.
Schools accept transfers until they reach capacity; when there are more applicants than spaces, the district reviews applications case by case and/or places students on a waitlist, and there is no guarantee. Families provide their own transportation for intra-district transfers. Rancho Campana High has its own lottery application instead: for fall 2026 it opened November 1, 2025 at noon and closed at 11:59 p.m. on December 1, 2025, with siblings of continuing students guaranteed a seat if they apply.
Oxnard Middle College High has its own application. 2027-28 dates for these processes were not posted when we checked on October 19, 2026.

Programs and how students get in
- Rancho Campana High School academies: Lottery application (no attendance zone); siblings of continuing students must apply but are guaranteed acceptance. Every student joins one of three academies (Arts, Media & Entertainment; Engineering; Medical/Health Sciences) with project-based learning and work-based learning such as guest speakers and site tours.
- Oxnard Middle College High School: Application; the school lists a 3.0 GPA in core classes, good attendance, two letters of recommendation and handwritten question responses. Dual-enrollment high school on the Oxnard College campus where students take high school and college classes; the school says every student has the chance to complete at least 38 college credits by graduation.
- Del Sol High School International Baccalaureate (candidate): Attendance-area school; students from other zones would use the intra-district transfer process. Del Sol is an IB candidate school offering the Middle Years Programme in grades 9 and 10 and planning the Diploma and Career-related programmes for grades 11 and 12; candidate status does not guarantee authorization.
- Career education pathways at Adolfo Camarillo High: Open to students at the school. District career education pages list Adolfo Camarillo pathways in agriculture, architecture, commercial photography, education and social services, information technology, mariachi, product innovation and design, robotics, and video and broadcasting; every comprehensive high school has its own list.
- Condor High School: Referral by the student's home school counselor; Condor counselors review the referral and, if accepted, schedule an orientation. Independent study school with classes on the Canvas platform; students are assigned to a Condor site at one of the high schools or at Solar Drive.
- Frontier High School: Placement through district Student Support Services. Continuation high school in Camarillo that describes itself as an alternative school.
- Anacapa Adult Transition Program: Special education program for transition-age students with special needs; the pages we read do not describe how students are placed. Focuses on daily living skills, self-advocacy, job skills and community involvement.
- Oxnard Adult School: Adults enroll directly with the school. Offers high school diploma and high school equivalency classes, English as a second language, citizenship, adult basic education and career technical courses such as a medical assistant program.
- Feeder dual language immersion pathway: For students arriving from elementary dual-immersion programs; talk with the high school counselor. Students can continue Spanish (French and German are also offered) through advanced and AP or IB courses and can earn the State Seal of Biliteracy.
- Camarillo Academy of Progressive Education (CAPE): Charter school; lottery application, not assigned by address. K–12 charter school in Camarillo listed by the state under Oxnard Union High School District.
- Architecture, Construction & Engineering Charter High (ACE): Charter school; contact the school about admission. Not assigned by address. Grades 9–12 charter high school in Camarillo listed by the state under Oxnard Union High School District.
Transfers and enrollment
Coming from (or leaving for) another district
Students who live outside the district use the Ventura County Interdistrict Transfer Agreement. The form goes first to the district of residence for approval; then the family submits the approved agreement, the release permit and supporting documents to OUHSD Student Support Services. Every application must include the most current transcript (unofficial is fine for high school, but it must show all earned credits) and/or report card, a current email address, and proof for each reason checked; reasons on the form include child care, parent employment, sibling, health and safety, specialized program, continuing enrollment, completing the final year at a school and a proposed change of residence.
Requests are decided under local board policy, and approval is not guaranteed. The district does not post an application window. Student Support Services: (805) 385-2552.

Enrolling
Enrollment is online and only for students new to the district; current students do not re-enroll each year, and current 8th graders choose the 2026-27 school year to enroll in 9th grade. Before starting, gather proof of age (original birth certificate or passport), immunization records, one utility bill dated within the past 60 days with your name and home address (electric, gas, water, trash, cable or satellite, home phone or internet) and an email address, plus recent report cards or transcripts, any IEP or 504 plan, and custody orders if they apply. A caregiver who is not the parent or legal guardian completes a Caregiver's Authorization Affidavit.
The first day of the 2026-27 school year was August 12, 2026. Questions: district office, (805) 385-2500, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
