About Walnut Acres
These are postwar tract houses of about 1,050 to 1,450 square feet on lots of about 6,000 square feet, and a few have since been enlarged. Sherman and Esther avenues share first names with members of the Dennis family who signed the map. The Walnut Acres name is still in use, and the City's Walnut Acres Park is nearby at 161 Second Street.

Downtown Moorpark, Moorpark
Downtown Moorpark is the city's original town center. It runs from Charles Street and the High Street rail station south across Los Angeles Avenue to the Arroyo Simi. The townsite was mapped beside the railroad in 1900, and the area filled in over the next century, from early cottages and 1950s tract streets to condo complexes and small-lot communities built since 2000.
