Tract O

Tract O is the old town grid of First, Second and Third streets between Moorpark Avenue and Bard Street, just south of the railroad. John M. Cornett recorded the map in January 1915 and laid out 50-foot-wide lots beside the depot. County records date many of the surviving houses to the 1910s through the 1940s.

About

About Tract O

These are among the oldest homes south of the tracks. Most are small houses of about 700 to 1,800 square feet on lots near 7,500 square feet, and newer houses have filled some gaps. The same map divided the land to the south and east into acre blocks, and parts of them later became the Flory Tract and Tract 5181. High Street, the station and Walnut Acres Park on Second Street are a short walk away.

These come from the district's own data, not from this site. Assignment goes by address, and districts change boundaries and run choice and transfer programs. Confirm with MUSD School Locator, or check an address here.

The townsite was mapped beside the railroad in 1900, and the area filled in over the next century, from early cottages and 1950s tract streets to condo complexes and small-lot communities built since 2000.
