Charles Street

The Charles Street neighborhood is the residential pocket just north of High Street and the rail line. The City's housing element describes it as part of Moorpark's earliest-developed core. Its blocks were platted as the M.L. Wicks Subdivision in 1906 and the Moorpark Eastern Addition in 1912, so its houses span more than a century.

Part of

Downtown Moorpark, Moorpark

Downtown Moorpark is the city's original town center. It runs from Charles Street and the High Street rail station south across Los Angeles Avenue to the Arroyo Simi. The townsite was mapped beside the railroad in 1900, and the area filled in over the next century, from early cottages and 1950s tract streets to condo complexes and small-lot communities built since 2000.
