McFadden Subdivision
The McFadden Subdivision is McFadden Avenue, a single street of 24 single-story houses just west of Moorpark Avenue, between the railroad and Los Angeles Avenue. Sunshine Homes, a partnership of William F. Jeske and Wesley H. Manor, recorded the map in July 1952, when Moorpark was still an unincorporated farm town. County records date the houses to 1953.

About McFadden Subdivision
Homes run about 950 to 2,100 square feet on lots of about 7,600 to 8,700 square feet. The original map also dedicated a 20-foot alley. Two years later the same partnership mapped Cornett Avenue next door, which is now the Sunshine Tract. The McFadden name survives mainly on the county's recorded map.

Downtown Moorpark, Moorpark
Downtown Moorpark is the city's original town center. It runs from Charles Street and the High Street rail station south across Los Angeles Avenue to the Arroyo Simi. The townsite was mapped beside the railroad in 1900, and the area filled in over the next century, from early cottages and 1950s tract streets to condo complexes and small-lot communities built since 2000.
