Fountainwood Estates covers about 93 homes on Valley Gate Road, the 100 block of Stonebrook Street, Granite Street, Humboldt Street, Telon Court and Grinnel Road, next to Coyote Hills Park and north toward Highland Road. Lusk Homes recorded the two maps (Tracts 2595-2 and 2595-3) in October 1980, but county records date the houses to 1986–87.

Nearly all the homes are two-story, about 2,000 to 5,000 square feet, on lots from about half an acre to just over an acre. Homes here are sold under the Fountainwood name, and a homeowners association called Fountainwood Estates is registered in Simi Valley. A Valley Gate Road home offered in 2026 showed dues of $525 a year and mentioned nearby horse trails. This is a different place from the newer Fountainwood Estates on Summit Avenue in north Simi Valley.

Coyote Hills is the foothill neighborhood around Coyote Hills Park in southwest Simi Valley, between Wood Ranch and First Street on both sides of Sinaloa Road, just south of Sinaloa Lake. Stonecraft Homes and Lusk Homes recorded the first tract maps in 1977–80, the last map came in 2001, and county records count about 560 homes.
