Alaska
Alaska is the name used in home sales for a small 1960 tract just west of the Texas Tract, across Tapo Street, where 86 homes sit on Yukon, Fairbanks and Anchorage avenues and the Nome, Juneau and Kodiak circles. A partnership called Tapo Estates recorded it as Tract 1198 in June 1960, a year before the first Belwood Estates phase.

About Alaska
It is a neighbor rather than part of the Texas Tract, and home sales place it in central rather than east Simi Valley. Lots are larger, mostly about 10,000 to 11,600 square feet, and the most common original home sizes are about 1,240 and 1,290 square feet, though many have since been enlarged. There is no HOA, and Valley View Middle School and Houghton-Schreiber Park are a short walk north.

On SVUSD's attendance-boundary map (elementary map revised December 2023), this tract's recorded outline falls in:
- Elementary: Township Elementary School

- High: Simi Valley High School
These come from the district's own data, not from this site. Assignment goes by address, and districts change boundaries and run choice and transfer programs. Confirm with School Boundary Maps, or check an address here.
Texas Tract, Simi Valley
The Texas Tract is the grid of homes north of Alamo Street between Tapo Street and the Simi Hills Golf Course, where nearly every street is named for a place in Texas. It went up from 1961 to 1964 as two subdivisions, Alscot's Belwood Estates on the west and Alpine Homes' Simi Hills Estates on the east, and today holds about 1,640 homes.
