Great West Homes, Inc. recorded the map on June 14, 1985, and county records date nearly all of the houses to 1986.

Stonegate, Simi Valley
Stonegate is a neighborhood of about 800 single-family homes south of Royal Avenue in south-central Simi Valley, laid out along Appleton Road. The Griffin Company built the original Stonegate tract on the former Appleton ranch after the ranch was sold in 1962. The tract maps were recorded in 1963 and 1964, and most of the houses date to 1964.
