Campus Hills

Campus Hills is the hillside section of Campus Park, wrapping around the west and north sides of Moorpark College from upper Pecan and Monroe avenues to University Drive. Griffin Homes and its Westlake Griffin Partnership recorded Tract 3963 in four phases between 1986 and 1989, and its roughly 485 homes went up from 1987 to 1997.

About Campus Hills

In home sales it goes by two names. Campus Hills Classic covers the smaller one- and two-story plans of phases 1 and 3 off Monroe and Pecan avenues, mostly 1,100 to 1,800 square feet. Campus Hills Estates covers the larger two-story homes of phases 2 and 4, up to about 2,900 square feet, along University Drive, Borges Drive, Harte Lane and Mallory Court. Phase 4 was built in two waves, in 1990-91 and 1995-97. Street names mix campus terms such as Freshman Court and Graduate Circle with authors such as Shakespeare and Trollope. The homeowners association runs a pool and Borges Park, and the city's Campus Canyon Park and Campus Canyon College Preparatory Academy stand on land from the first-phase map.

Campus Park is the group of tracts around Moorpark College in the city's northeast corner, between SR-118 and the hills. The name traces to Campus Park, Ltd., which filed one of the first maps in 1972. Developers including Metropolitan Development, Alvin Dick's Varsity Park companies and Griffin Homes built more than 1,900 homes here between 1973 and 1997.
