About Original Unit
The community history site says the model homes stood on Kanan just north of Mae Boyar Park, which was named for Louis Boyar's late wife, Mae. Early buyers bought in FHA mutual-home groups of 20 to 25 houses, and the original Plan A sold for $23,000. Nearly all the houses are single-story plans of about 1,350 to 2,000 square feet on lots of roughly 7,000 to 9,000 square feet, and county records list most as built in 1970. There is no homeowners association. The unit's former Lot 179, near Kanan and Sunnycrest, was re-divided in 1977 as Tract 2660.
