About Tract 2017
The Thousand Oaks City Council approved the map in May 1969, and it was recorded that June. Its lots are the smallest in the association, mostly about 4,500 to 5,700 square feet. The homes are fairly large for their lots, though: county assessor records put most of them between about 1,750 and 2,150 square feet. A note on the map says members of the Borchard family kept half of the oil, gas and mineral rights below 500 feet under a 1967 deed. The county's fire hazard map places most of the tract in the High zone, with Moderate and Very High areas at the edges.
